Sidney Henry was the second son of 32 year old Horace, a publisher clerk by profession and 32 year old Marie from Constance in Switzerland. Sidney Henry was born on 25 January 1884 in Streatham, London, according to the Tooting Graveney Boys Register. It is not clear when the Cath family returned to England.
Sidney Henry attended Tooting Graveney Boy’s School in Wandsworth from the 15th May 1893

At the time of the 1891 Census, the family were living at 224 Robinson road, Mitcham, Surrey with Horace’s 7 year old brother Henry and one year old Hubert.

By the 1901 Census, 42 year old Horace senior had progressed up the career ladder to become a publisher work-keeper.

Twenty four year old Sidney Henry, a clerk by profession married 24 year old Margaret Louise Goodwin at the St Paul parish church in Herne Hill on August 15th 1908. At the time of his marriage Sidney Henry resided at Robinson Road in Tooting.

The 1911 Census reveals that Sidney Henry was living with his brother-in-law at 26 Danecroft Road in Herne Hill. He had been married for 2 years and had a one year old child called Sidney who was alive and well. Sidney Henry was employed as a publisher’s assistant manager. His wife Margaret Louise was staying with her son Sidney and brother at Hill Head, Fareham in Hampshire.

Sidney Henry’s service record is not available in Ancestry, all that is known is that he served as a private in the Royal Army Service Corps.

Post war, Sidney Henry, his wife and son moved to Tuesley Lane in Guildford, Surrey where he joined the Freemason’s.

Sidney Henry of Atwell Tuesley lane Godalming died on the 9th 0ctober 1923 leaving an estate of £853 14s 7d to his widow Margaret Louise.
