Bertie Juster was born on 24 March 1895 to James, a carpenter, and Sarah. He had a twin, Harry, and they had 7 brothers and sisters. They lived at 140 Effra Road, Wimbledon but by 1911 they had moved to 10 Granville Road, Wimbledon.Bertie attended Rutlish School and became an errand boy when he left.
The twins had joined up together and did their training at Chatham before being sent to France. Bertie was killed in October 1915 and he is buried in the St Sever Cemetery in Rouen.
