Service Record - Alfred Charles Elgood
Additional Information
This is Alfred Elgood's discharge paper, from his first, unsuccessful attempt to join the army. He was evidently discharged for "bad" military character, and for "not being likely to become an efficient soldier." However, he re-enlisted under the alias Alfred Totterdill with the Northamptonshire Regiment shortly after being discharged from the Royal Field Artillery, and honourably served with them for three years until his death in 1917.
