Extract from the War Diary of 12th Battalion, Rifle Brigade. These pages record the death of Rifleman Herbert Stillman, and Captains Thompson and Keele, who were killed by a single shell in the square of Poperinghe, Belgium while the Battalion were billeted in a nearby street. The incident is also recorded in the Battalions War Diary page for the 12th July 1916.
