Similar to Tank Days Gun Days had the same purpose- to raise money to finance the war effort.
A large Field Howitzer, with its sand bagged emplacement and camouflage netting, was displayed outside the Council Offices in Wimbledon on Thursday October 10 1918. Unlike the Tank Day earlier in the year the crowd was small but close to £200,000 was raised.
