Additional Information
Joseph was born in 1862 and by the outbreak of war was a settled married man. His father, George, was a fireman and he was employed as a Gas Stoker at the Gas Works.
Joseph and his wife Elizabeth had married on 5 June 1892 in St George’s Church Battersea and Florence was born the following year, followed by Lilian, Charles, Eliza, Edith and Leonard. They lived at 47 Wadsworth Road, Battersea.
Joseph joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and was a Private in the Malta Battalion.
He died in Fulham Military hospital on 28 January 1917 and is buried in Morden Cemetery.
