Charles King was born in Hackney in 1899. His father, Charles, was a publican and his mother was called Alice. He had two younger brothers, Leonard and Stanley. They lived in Old Street in 1911 and his parents had moved to Stoke Newington by 1918.
He died on 9 August 1918 and is buried at the Beacon Cemetery, Sailly Laurette. He is commemorated in St Lawrence’s Church but his connection with Morden is unclear.
