David Kinsey was born in 1879. On the 1911 census he is shown renting a room in Finsbury Park from Hester Montague and Cara Florence Ashby is shown as his wife, but in fact they married at Islington Register Office on 16 November 1912.
He was a builder/labourer and Cara was a laundress.
He enlisted in the Army Service Corps, Public Works Pioneer Battalion on 4 May 1915, just before his 38th birthday and gave his address as 116 Andover Road, Finsbury Park. He made provision for his wife whilst he was at war by arranging for 1 shilling a day to be taken from his pay and sent to her.
He died in Epsom on 13 April 1917 and is buried in Morden Cemetery.
