Joseph William, who was born in1860 at Chelsea in Middlesex, married Harriet Menzies Corder at Chorlton in Lancashire in the last quarter of 1891
Joseph Charles, the youngest son of Joseph William, a 36 years old, book-keeper clerk, and Harriet Menzies in 1897 at Liverpool in Lancashire.
The 1901 Census reveals that 40 year old William Joseph and Harriet Menzies had a total of 4 children living with them at their home at 125 Faraday Road in Wimbledon.
The 1911 Census reveals that Joseph and Harriet had been married for 21 years; the couple had a total of 6 children.
Joseph Charles enlisted in the Royal Scots Fusiliers in Wimbledon, eventually rising to the rank of corporal and was killed in action on the 21st August 1918. He is commemorated at the VIS-EN-ARTOIS Memorial.
