Additional Information
Kingsley was born in 1893 in Gateshead. His father Frederick was an electrical engineer from Newcastle and his mother, Isabella, came from Consett.
Kingsley had one younger sister called Renee.
Isabella had connections in Aukland, New Zealand but Kingsley grew up in Wimbledon and at the time of the 1901 census the family lived at 26 Princes Road, South Wimbledon. He attended Rutlish School from 1903 to 1905.
By the 1911 census, the family were living in South Woodford, Essex and Kingsley had left home as he is not shown on the census. He appears to have visited New Zealand as he joined the NZEF, 2nd Battalion Aukland Regiment, service number 12/2463 and embarked from Aukland on 13 June 1915, heading for Suez where he served between 24 July and 6 August.
He died in France but there is some discrepancy regarding the date as some documents give 15 September 1916 and others 15 October 1916. By the time of his death his father had also died and his mother was living in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. Kingsley is buried in Quarry Cemetery, Montauban, France (V1.B5) and is commemorated at Rutlish School.
