Additional Information
Albert was born on 17 May 1887 in West Norwood, to Mark and Elizabeth Ware and baptised on 10 July at St. James’s Church in Kennington. Albert was an only child. In 1891 the family was living in Lambeth, but had moved to Wimbledon by 1901, where they resided at 302 Haydons Road, an 8 room house, and Albert attended Rutlish School. Albert’s father worked as a butcher, as did Albert prior to the war. He was still living at home at the time of the 1911 census, when he was 23, but he married Mabel Beck in 1913, and the couple had one child.
Albert was killed in action in France on 20 September 1918.
