Thomas was born in the early part of 1897 in Croydon, Surrey. His parents were Edward and Emma Dennison. Edward was a commercial worker and at the time of the 1901 census they were living at 114 Livingstone Road, Croydon.
Thomas was the youngest of 5 children. His eldest sister, Emma was born in 1887, followed by Edward, William and Katherine. The family moved to 7 Moffat Road, Thornton Heath and by the 1911 census Emma and Edward had left home but Thomas’s parents had taken in lodgers and shared their house with James and Lillian Martin and their baby Leonard.
Thomas enlisted on2 January 1917 at Aldershot and became a Private number T/254816 in the Royal Army Service Corps.
He applied for discharge from the Army on 15 October 1919 and at that time did not claim to have any disability due to his service. However, he died at home, 67 College Road, Colliers Wood, on 4 August 1920 and is buried in Plot 4.66 of the Mitcham Burial Ground.
