Albert was born in London on 2 January 1889 and was baptised in St Mary’s Church Newingham on 13 October 1889. His father, John was a wood turner and his mother’s name was Emily.
He enlisted in the 1st Battalion, Loyal North Lancashire Regiment and was killed in action on 18 September 1918. He is buried in the Bellcourt British Cemetery. By the time of his death his parents were living at 33 Robinson Road, Tooting and he left his father the sum of £158 11s 5d.
