Thomas Edward Wynne, the third son of John Henry and Nancy Louisa Wynne was born in July 1889. The family lived at 1 Poynton Road in Battersea.
His father John Henry was born in Holborn London in 1859 and married Nancy Louisa Reid in the third quarter of 1884
.
The 1891 Census reveals that John Henry aged 32 years was a commissionaire living with his 30 year old wife Nancy Louisa at 1 Poynton Road in Battersea with their 3 sons and Nancy Louisa's brother 21 year old Walter Robert Reed.
By 1901, the Census reveals that John Henry was employed as an attendant at the law courts.
Thomas Edward enlisted in the Northumberland Fusiliers and was killed in action on the 5th September 1918. He is buried at Pont-du-Hem Military Cemetery, La Gorgue, Calais in France and commemorated on the Mitcham War Memorial.
