Leonard George was the fourth son of Richard Issac, a gardener by occupation and his mother Annie Batten. He was baptized on the 15th March 1895 in Wimbledon.
His parents, Richard Issac had married Annie Strainge at Hampton wick on August 20th 1878 but his mother Annie had died in 1897 at Kingston upon Thames.
Richard Issac married Kate Ann Ahrens, who had been previously employed as a servant according to the 1881 Census on the 7th 0ctober 1902.
According to the 1911 Census, Richard and Kate Ann had been married for 8 years and the couple had 2 more children who were still alive and well. Richard Issac at the age of 53 was still employed as a market gardener. While his son Leonard George was now employed as a baker.
Kate Ann died in Morden in November 1918. Richard Issac died on the 23rd January 1932.
Leonard George enlisted as a private in the London Regiment of the Royal Fusiliers and was killed in action. He is commemorated at The Menin Gate. His service record is not available through Ancestry.
