Albert Edward who was born in the third quarter of 1885 in Remenham was the fourth child of Thomas and Emma Taylor. His father Thomas was employed as a coachman married his wife Emma in 1880. By 1881, Emma and Thomas had their first son Frank according to the Census.
According to the 1891 Census, the Taylor family still resided in Remenham, 38-year-old Thomas and his 32-year-old wife Emma had 6 children. Thomas continued to be employed as a coachman.
By 1901, the Taylor family had moved to 89 Bank View in Remenham with their five youngest children, Albert had left school and was employed as a groom.
In 1911, 25-year-old Albert was employed as a corn-mill hand labourer; he continued to live at home with his parents and youngest brother, 14-year-old Ernest.

Albert’s service record is not available through Ancestry; he enlisted as a private in the 7th Princess Charlotte of Wales's (Royal Berkshire) Regiment at Reading. It was while he was in Reading that he met Edith Mary his unmarried wife (according to his enlistment records). Albert died on the 29th September in 1918, age 31 years; he was buried at Mitcham Church Road burial ground.
