John Thomas who was born in Isleworth, Middlesex, during the second quarter of 1888 was the third son of Mary and Robert Fletcher. His 39-year-old father Robert was employed as a general labourer according to the 1891 Census. The Fletcher family resided at 3 Hurst Cottages in Napier Road in Isleworth.

John Thomas was baptised on 15th April 1888 at the parish church of St John the Baptist in Isleworth, baptismal records reveal that his father was employed as a labourer. The Fletcher family resided at Eve Road in Isleworth.

The 1891 Census records that the Fletcher family lived at 3 Hurst cottages.

By 1901, 13-year-old John Thomas was living with his parents at 98 Worple Road in Isleworth. His 49-year-old father was employed as a parcels carts worker.

In 1902, his eldest brother Robert George married Charlotte Mary Fletcher, the marriage register reveals that his father Robert was employed as a car man.

By 1911, 22-year-old John Thomas was employed at a milk carrier, living with his brother Robert and his family at 48 Bickersteth Road in Tooting.

John Thomas’s service record is not available through Ancestry, while living in Mitcham, he enlisted as a driver at Kingston on Thames in the Army Service Corps and died at Norwich War Hospital on the 19th of August 1918. John Thomas was buried at Isleworth Cemetery.
