Very little information can be found regarding H E R Burrell.
We know that he was “a native of East Molesey” and that his parents, Henry and Rosina Burrell, lived at 17 Gordondale Road, Wimbledon Park.
He was born in 1888 and he died of pneumonia on 1 December 1918. He is buried in Busigney Communal Cemetery Extension and the words “Somewhere a voice is calling” are engraved on his headstone. We also know that he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.
He is commemorated in St Luke’s Church, Wimbledon Park.
