Very little can be found about Albert’s life. His father was Charles William Henry Payne and he lived at Braemar, 52 Sutherland Grove, Southfields at the time of Albert’s death. Albert’s address was 87 Revelstoke Road.
He was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps and died, aged 46, in Fort Pitt Hospital, Rochester on 27 March 1918 after an accident.
He was buried in Putney Vale Cemetery on 2 April 1918 and left his effect of £300 to Lily Payne (spinster).
