Edward Cherry Findon was born on19 December 1876 in Liverpool.
He came from a large family led by William, a Grocer, and Elizabeth (nee Morgan). They had a total of ten children, three of whom unfortunately died young and Edward was number 5 with three older sisters and one brother, who died when he was 13, and 5 younger sisters.
He grew up in Toxteth, Liverpool and married Isabel Edge on 22 September 1901. Edward and Isabel had six children by the 1911 census – Florence, Edward, William, May, George and Isobel.
Little can be found about his military career. He joined the Royal Army Medical Corps and was in Brixton when he died on 24 October 1914. He was buried in Streatham Park cemetery.
