Albert Eric was the second child of Louisa Kay and Eric Erickson; he was born in Battersea on the 14th of January 1891. Eric was baptised on the 29th of March 1891. His parents had met and married on the 10th of 0ctober 1866 at Hanover Church in Middlesex. Marriage records reveal that his parents were employed as tailors.
The 1891 Census reveals that Louisa and Eric resided at 44 Cologne Road in Battersea with 3-month-old Albert and 4-year-old Lilian. Living with the family was widowed 46-year-old Sarah Kay who was Louisa’s mother.
School admission records for Belleville Road school reveal that Albert Eric began attending this school on the 1st of July 1898. The Erickson family were living at 44 Kilmacott Road in Battersea
According to the 1901 Census, Louisa and Eric lived in Battersea with their 3 children, Lilian, Albert Eric and Winifred.
Fifteen-year-old Winifred began employment in 1908 as a learner with the Postal Service in March 1908.
Twenty-two-year-old Lilian married George Henry Call a gold charm maker in 1909.
According to the Electoral Registers for 1911 and 1912, the Erickson family continued to live at number 6 The Crescent, Wimbledon Park in Surrey.
Fifty-seven-year-old Eric died in March 1912 in Kingston Surrey. Probate of his will left an estate of £206 16s to his widow Louisa who with the Erickson family were still residing at 6 The Crescent, Wimbledon Park in Surrey.
Twenty-three-year-old Albert Eric enlisted in the Royal Sussex Regiment in 1914 according to the Army recruitment register, he was 5ft 9 inches tall and weighed 131lbs, he describes his occupation as being a tailor.
0n the 29th of June 1917, married twenty-four-year-old Julia Catherine Williams at the Parish Church of St Luke in Wimbledon Park. At the time of their marriage, the couple were still living at 6 The Crescent, Wimbledon Park in Surrey. The 1911 Census reveals that Catherine was employed as a tailoress.
Albert Eric’s service record is not available through Ancestry. The medals index card for the 31st of August 1915 for 6392 Corporal Eric Charles Erickson where he served in France, and he was promoted from Sergeant in 1918 to 2nd Lieutenant with the East Surrey Regiment and awarded the Military Medal before being killed in action on the 18th of September 1918. Albert Eric Charles was buried at Epehy Wood Farm cemetery in France.
