There is very little information available about Robert Barton. He cannot be found on census records from before the war and the only thing we can confirm about him is that his next of kin was registered with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission as being his aunt, Mrs Buckland of 45 Grant Road, Battersea.
Robert probably died of wounds as he had returned from France and is buried in Streatham Park Cemetery.
