Frank was born in Newington in c. 1877. His father, also named Frank, was a Warehouse Porter, his mother’s name was Annie and he had two younger brothers Ernest and Henry.
He got married to Frances Emma Nicholls in 1909 and at the time of the 1911 census they were living at 6 Montpelier Row, Blackheath. He was a waiter while she was a cook, housekeeper.
There is very little information about Frank’s military career. He enlisted in the Notts and Derby Battalion as a Private but was later transferred to the Labour Corps.
By 1921 he was working as a Caretaker for the Executors of R E Peake at 32 Crediton Hill and he and Frances were living at 6 Tontpelice Road, Blackheath.
He died on 29 January 1921 and is buried in Streatham Park Cemetery. His grave is cared for by the CWGC.
