Samuel’s father’s name was also Samuel and he was married to a lady called Katherine who lived in Shelbourne Road, Bournemouth at the time of Samuel Jnr’s death in 1919.
He served in the South African Campaign and was a member of the South African Engineers, Miscellaneous Trades Company but no other information about him or his military career can be found.
He died in 1919 and may have been living in Battersea at the time. He is buried in Streatham Park Cemetery.
