Additional Information
James John died in 1920 and is shown as being 49 years old on his memorial in Streatham Park Cemetery. However, census records indicate that he was born in 1878 in Halesowen.
He grew up in Worcestershire and became a bricklayer. His first son, Aaron, was born in 1898 and he married Aaron’s mother, Alice Thompson in 1901. Unfortunately, Aaron died when he was only 4 years old but they went on to have Jane, David, Liza, May, Tim, Alice and Victor.
James joined the Royal Garrison Artillery. There is very little information about his time in the military but it is known that, at the time of his death, his address was 25 Mandalay Road, Clapham Common and that he left his wife £468 10s.
He is buried in Streatham Park Cemetery.
