Peter was born on the 18th of February 1883; he was the eldest son of Margaret Grant and John Stephen Geddes.
The Scottish Census for 1891 reveals that Margaret and John Stephen lived with their 4 children at Tillycairn Cottages in Cluny, Aberdeenshire.
In 1902, Peter and his brother John attended Port Elphinstone School in Aberdeenshire Scotland according to the school register while the Geddes family lived in Crichie.
Twenty-six-year-old Peter married Agnes Mitchell on the 4th of August in 1908 at All Saints Church in Fulham according to the Parish Register. Peter describes his occupation as that of an engineer; at the time of his marriage, he was living at 9 Munster Road.
Agnes and Peter had a total of four children, their eldest son John was born on the 11th of April 1909, Agnes Margaret was born on the 4th of June in 1910, George Alexander was born on the 27th of February 1913, and Minnie was born on the 27th of 0ctober 1915.
Peter enlisted in the army in the Royal Engineers where enlistment records reveal that he was 32-years and 3 months old. He was 5ft and 9 inches tall and weighed only 128lbs. Peter describes his occupation as a fitter. Peter died of wounds on the 3rd of May 1916 as a sergeant in the Royal Engineers
