Letter - From Ivan A. Jacobs to Walter Dowson Part 2
Additional Information
This is a copy of the letter sent to Walter Dowson in regard to the ongoing attempt to identify his son's body. Humphrey Dowson disappeared along a German trench on the 15 September, 1916, and was later declared dead; his father was understandably anxious to have his son's body identified, and carried on a correspondence with 2nd Lieutenant Ivan A. Jacobs to that effect, as 2nd Lieutenant Jacobs found a soldier's body on the 3 October 1916 that may have been Humphrey Dowson's. See also: Letter - From Ivan A. Jacobs to Walter Dowson.
