Additional Information
This is a copy of the letter sent to Walter Dowson in regard to the ongoing attempt to identify his son's body. Humphrey Dowson disappeared along a German trench on the 15 September, 1916, and was later declared dead; his father was understandably anxious to have his son's body identified, and carried on a correspondence with Second Lieutenant Ivan A. Jacobs to that effect. In this letter, Second Lieutenant Jacobs attempts to answer questions about a body he found that may have been Humphrey Dowson's, which Walter Dowson enquired about in a previous letter.
